The Mitsubishi MRJ/SJ was a Japanese regional airliner that underwent testing and certification efforts in Washington State. Unfortunately, the project was cancelled and all aircraft in the US were scrapped.

Tokyu GCRTA ”Airporter II” EMUs are slowly being withdrawn from service, with a full retirement scheduled for 2027.

Japan America Transportation Historical Organization is a Washington State non profit organization with 501(c)(3) status. At JATHO, we are dedicated to celebrating the enduring friendship between the United States and Japan. Our mission focuses on preserving transportation history, highlighting how these two nations have connected through innovative vehicles and infrastructure, as well as the engineering and science behind them. We are actively collecting artifacts and raising funds to build a permanent museum in the Pacific Northwest.
